DeChristopher had the best interest of anyone who loves to breathe clean air and enjoys wild nature in mind. If a person loves his country, if they love America and want to see it's beauty preserved, they ought to be commended and rewarded for taking steps to ensure that everyone may enjoy this scenic splendor, pollution free, for generations to come.
If convicted he could face up to ten years in prison and a $750,000 fine...FOR SAVING LIVES! Saving not only the lives of the animals who would have been killed and displaced by the drilling, but human lives. He is protecting people from breathing in the toxic pollution spewed by these poisonous rigs and machines.
Murderers and rapists don't get punishments as harsh. What a travesty! Here is a man who demonstrated peaceful civil disobedience in the spirit of Thoreau, Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr,. being treated like a criminal. He may not like the term, but in my view Tim DeChristopher is a hero. A hero for protecting an area that I fell in love with from the very first moment I set my eyes on it; and thanks to Tim, I and many others can continue to marvel at and appreciate it's magnificent grandeur well into the future.
Thank you Tim!
